MAIA ZHELIAZKOVA
Maia Evgenieva Zheliazkova, born in Stara Zagora (Bulgaria), is an architect and a fellow researcher at Department of Architecture, Built environment and Construction engineering - ABC, Politecnico di Milano. She holds a Master degree in Architecture from Politecnico di Milano and the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia, Bulgaria. She investigates the implementation of Building Information Modelling and parametric tools in the analysis and intervention on cultural heritage buildings to support adaptive reuse projects.
In her academic work Maia Zheliazkova has explored her interest in the renovation and repurposing of the architecture of totalitarian regimes, specifically in Eastern Europe and has participated in the development of some of the ActLab projects. Her previous experience includes collaborations with EDOM (Bulgaria) and SalottoBuono (Italy) where she took part in developing projects and competition proposals.
