3D PRINTED SPOTLIGHT
PRODUCT PROTOTYPE
The 3D printed spotlight were conceived as experimental product prototypes exploring the possibilities of DIY additive manufacturing to create low cost everyday objects. Using a standard base silhouette measuring 15 by 15 by 12 cm ca, multiple patterns have been developed, experimenting with different light effects and lighting shade morphologies.
A commercial light bulb is assembled with custom designed shaders which are manufactured by Fused Deposition Modelling of different Thermoplastic materials. Each spotlight can be parametrically tuned in several morphological features, which can be directly produced in few hours.
The project was presented in the 3D Printing Lab for Architecture in the Innovation Forum 2014 of Federlegno Arredo.
Project responsible: Roberto Naboni
Design and development: Luca Breseghello, Gabriella Rossi, Ofir Albeg
